Whether your asset is an LNG Carrier crossing the Atlantic or an FPSO anchored in harsh North Sea conditions, power failure is not an option. CEEG provides a complete portfolio of transformer solutions (0.11kV – 13.8kV) specifically engineered to withstand the high salinity, extreme humidity, and intense vibration of marine environments.
Our solutions are fully certified to meet the rigorous standards of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS): CCS | ABS | DNV-GL | LR | BV | NK | RINA etc.
Core Technology Highlights:
Designed for corrosive ocean atmospheres, the transformer body is treated with TW32-4 organic silicone coating. This provides exceptional resistance against Salt Fog, Mold, and Humidity, ensuring longevity in open-deck or engine room environments.
In the confined, high-risk spaces of a vessel, fire safety is paramount. We utilize DuPont Nomex® insulation, characterized by a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) > 20.8%. It is self-extinguishing and non-toxic, releasing no harmful gases if exposed to fire.
Rough seas create constant mechanical stress. Our transformers feature a rigid, integrated structure where the enclosure, body, and base are firmly secured. This ensures stability against the pitch and roll of vessels and engine-induced vibrations.
Engineered for the high value of onboard real estate, our units offer a reduced footprint for easy installation in tight machinery spaces.
For merchant vessels, efficiency and harmonic suppression are critical. CEEG delivers tailored power solutions that drive modern fleets.
We specialize in H-Class 12-pulse and 24-pulse phase-shifting rectifier transformers designed specifically for marine electric propulsion systems.
Technical Insight: Harmonic Suppression
To protect the ship’s grid from harmonic distortion, we utilize a phase-shifting rectifier design:
Principle: The system converts AC voltage to a DC-like output to smooth power delivery.
Configuration: We utilize a Primary Extended Delta connection paired with two secondary output groups: one Delta (d) and one Star (y).
Result: This achieves a precise phase shift of ±7.5°, effectively realizing a 24-pulse rectification effect that minimizes Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Seamless integration for low voltage (1kV and below) and medium voltage systems powering lighting, emergency switchboards, and pumps.
Designed for environments with strict heat dissipation requirements (such as tight engine rooms).
System Configuration: Includes high-performance German fans, a dedicated control box, a water-cooler heat exchange system, and a specialized transformer enclosure (IP44 or higher).
Target: O&G Companies (FPSO/Drilling Rigs), Offshore Wind Installers
Series: C(P)S, C(P)SGD, C(P)SCD
Standard: Adheres to CB/T3528-93 General Specification for Transformers on Offshore Platforms
We do not simply repurpose land transformers for the ocean. CEEG has developed the specialized "P" Series (Platform), engineered to address the unique challenges of stationary offshore assets compared to moving vessels.
| Feature | Commercial Marine (Ships) | Offshore Platforms (FPSO/Rigs) | CEEG "P-Series" Solution |
| Motion | Constant Pitch & Roll | Relatively Static / Structural Vibration | Reinforced core clamping to handle high-frequency drilling vibrations. |
| Corrosion | High (Salt Spray) | Severe (Permanent Exposure/Splash Zone) | C5-M rated enclosures and upgraded "Three-Proofing" coating thickness. |
| Maintenance | Regular Dry Docking | Decades On-Site (No Dry Dock) | Maintenance-free design with high overload capacity for uninterrupted 24/7 operation. |

Why Our Solutions Last Longer at Sea?
We offer flexible cooling configurations to match your space and ambient temperature requirements:
AN (Air Natural): For standard ventilation rooms.
AF (Air Forced): To increase capacity during peak loads.
AFWF (Air-Forced Water-Forced): A closed-loop system for hermetically sealed engine rooms, transferring heat to the ship’s cooling water circuit.
Safety Margin: While we design our transformers to meet H-Class (180°C rise) standards, we utilize Nomex C-Class insulation materials (rated for 220°C).
Benefit: This creates a massive thermal safety margin, allowing the transformer to handle unexpected overloads safely without degrading the insulation life.
VPI Process: For High Voltage coils, we offer both Cast Resin and Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI). VPI ensures the coil becomes a solid, void-free mass, significantly enhancing mechanical strength and moisture resistance.
German Engineering: We utilize Hedrich vacuum casting equipment from Germany. This ensures a dense insulation layer with zero air bubbles and extremely low Partial Discharge (PD), critical for high-voltage safety at sea.
Don't let the harsh marine environment compromise your vessel's operations. Whether you need a compact drive transformer for a new build or a rugged replacement for an offshore rig, CEEG has the certified engineering expertise to deliver.
