On March 18, 2025, the HEC & CEEG Saudi Project Transformer Shipping Ceremony was held at CEEG Yangzhong Riverside Industrial Park, China, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between Hyundai Engineering China (HEC) and China Electric Equipment Group (CEEG). The event was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from HEC, Dr. Hans Lu (Chairman and CEO of CEEG), Yangzhong Mayor Li Lijun, and Chen Shunzhi (Principal of the Yangzhong Economic Development Zone).

The ceremony underscored the growing partnership between HEC and CEEG, with an HEC representative emphasizing trust as the foundation of their collaboration. “CEEG’s professionalism, technical expertise, and execution efficiency during the project’s technical alignment and delivery phases have strengthened our confidence in this partnership,” he stated. “CEEG’s vision aligns with Hyundai Engineering’s commitment to advancing global sustainable energy solutions.” He also expressed enthusiasm for expanding cooperation across various sectors, guided by shared principles of expertise, innovation, and mutual benefit.

In his address, Dr. Hans Lu reaffirmed CEEG’s commitment to delivering the Saudi project on schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards. He highlighted CEEG’s strategic alignment with the transformative Amiral Project in Saudi Arabia, a flagship initiative within the Saudi Aramco Total Refinery and Petrochemicals (SATORP) expansion in Jubail. “Our transformers are critical to the Amiral Project’s ambitious goals,” Dr. Lu noted, emphasizing CEEG’s role in supporting the production of 1.65 million tons of ethylene and industrial gases annually. He also outlined CEEG’s global growth strategy, including expanding operations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, while strengthening R&D, specialized manufacturing, supply chain integration, and localized customer support.

Following the speeches, attendees participated in a ceremonial launch, marking the official departure of six trucks loaded with transformers bound for Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This shipment embarks on a 7,000-kilometer journey, reinforcing CEEG’s commitment to international energy projects.
